Mouth UlcersViral infection is the most common cause of mouth ulcers, but they can also be a problem if you suffer from certain mineral and vitamin deficiencies, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or coeliac disease. If you do not have these conditions, but suffer recurrent bouts of mouth ulcers, you may find you get relief by altering your diet, because in some people mouth ulcers appear to be caused by food intolerance, especially in those who are prone to other allergic conditions. Gluten appears to be the most likely culprit, so it is worthwhile excluding wheat, rye, barley, corn (maize) and oats first. If your mouth ulcers do not improve, try the proper diet plan.
